Caffeine To Boost Female Sex Drive

Coffee As A Female Libido Enhancer

Is your wife suffering from low sex drive and avoiding sex because of it? Research has revealed an interesting correlation between the intake of caffeine and the increase of female libido. Although the research was conducted among rats, there is some evidence to suggest that future treatment of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) may help women be more sexually active. FSD treatment at present is based mostly on artificial testosterone patches such as the Procter & Gamble product Intrinsa patch.

The research was conducted by a team of scientists from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The departments involved in the experiment were Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Behavioural studies. The research involved controlled stimulation of the areas of the female brain that trigger sexual desire. A total of 108 female rats were given moderate doses of caffeine to determine whether or not it had any effect on their sexual behaviour. It was found out that those rats felt more sexually aroused than normal rats and the duration between their mating cycles was shortened following the administration of caffeine.

Results from tests indicated that caffeine may not be helpful in boosting libido for women who have coffee on a regular basis. Only non-regular drinkers may get the libido-enhancing benefits from caffeine.

Researchers suggest that caffeine has the ability to stimulate parts of the brain that control sexual responses and behavior. As the rats used in the lab experiment never had caffeine before, the researchers concluded that the libido-enhancing effects of caffeine may be heightened in women who drink coffee less frequently. Many women are addicted to coffee, in which case caffeine is not likely to give any benefits related to libido enhancement.

It is important to remember that coffee can have both a positive and negative impact on a person’s health. Caffeine can improve memory functions and lower the risk of cancer. On the other hand, it can increase the risk of strokes and heart attacks, particularly if taken excessively. According to the spokesperson of the British Coffee Association, a woman has to drink 10 cups of coffee to experience a significant kick in their libido, which is not a healthy approach to beating the problem.

As the findings of this research are yet to be clinically approved, you cannot fully rely on caffeine and similar substances as female libido enhancers. What you can do meanwhile is to talk to your doctor about Intrinsa patch and treat the problem of lack of sex drive effectively and without much hassle. Artificial testosterone patches can not only treat female sexual dysfunction, but can also treat hypoactive sexual desire disorder, a precursor to FSD. These patches are meant to be worn in dry areas of the skin, particularly on lower abdomen or on shoulders. Each patch contains 300mcg of artificial testosterone which is delivered directly to your bloodstream. You can wear them under your clothing discreetly and enjoy the benefits of a rejuvenated sex life in a relatively short period of time.
